New York State Library

Library Web sites

Emma S. Clark Memorial Library - information, history, events, and links to Internet resources.

Four County Library Library System - consists of public libraries in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties.

George F. Johnson Memorial Library - educational and recreational links, newsletter, history page with photos, e-mail reference, and reserve requests.

Metropolitan New York Library Council  - a nonprofit membership organization of 268 libraries and library systems in the five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester County. Our members represent a diverse group of nearly 1,200 individual academic, public, hospital and special libraries across the metropolitan area.

Mid-Hudson Library System

New York Academy of Medicine Library - medical history library. Open to the public.

Old York Library - books, maps, images, and memorabilia of New York City.

Onondaga County Public Library System - operates the Central Library, eight city branches, two satellite libraries in community centers, and it serves eighteen independent suburban member libraries in the county. By contract with North Country Library System, it also provides full services to three member libraries in Oswego County.

Pioneer Library System - a cooperative library system serving public libraries in Livingston, Ontario, Wayne and Wyoming counties of New York State.

Rochester Regional Library Council - established in 1966. Its membership encompasses libraries in the New York State counties of Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, and Wyoming.

Suffolk Web - a cooperative project of the libraries in Suffolk County.

Tamiment Institute Library and Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives - a unique center for scholarly research on anarchism, communism labor history, and socialism.

Upper Hudson Library System - chartered to serve the 447,222 residents of Albany and Rensselaer Counties, covering 1,178 square miles.

Library of Congress Catalog is also very useful.

National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections (NUCMC) - is a free-of-charge cooperative cataloging program operated by the Library of Congress.  NUCMC cataloging is placed in Research Libraries Information Network Archival and Mixed Collections file (RLIN AMC) which has close to 500,000 records available in the bibliographic database, for archival and manuscript collections in research libraries, museums, state archives, and historical societies located throughout North America.
